FALSE CAUSE

“America proudly welcomes millions of lawful immigrants who enrich our society and contribute to our nation, but all Americans are hurt by uncontrolled illegal migration. It strains public resources and drives down jobs and wages.” (Nation on Immigration, 2019)
False cause is defined as supposing that two things are connected by coincidence and somehow cause each other (confusing correlation with causation): assuming that because one event follows another, the first causes the second. The first part of the sentence seems positive, but the second part contradicts the first part, and has very little evidence to support this correlation. There is not enough evidence that illegal immigration is the source of strains on public resources and drives people in America down jobs and wages. Trump uses false cause as a way for his viewers to see the legal immigrants have a positive contribution to the nation, but fails to enlighten the nation of how illegal immigrants become the core source of the downfalls stated above.
